This fundraiser event will feature a live and silent auction of mounted and framed original artwork by Ukrainian artists on the frontlines of the assault on their country. Learn about their stories in their own words through video and written testimonials. \nU.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania’s First District\, who spent many years working in Ukraine and with the Ukrainian people\, will make a special appearance and remarks via video. Ukrainian family members of those displaced by war and those who have made it here seeking refuge will also be on hand to speak about their journey. \nPearl S. Buck International continues in the footsteps of Pearl S. Buck by bridging cultures\, changing lives\, and creating hope. In addition to  birthday cake\, this year the Pearl S. Buck Volunteer Association is hosting several rug hooking demonstrations and an exhibit of several beautifully created rugs by the Hunterdon County Rug Artisans’ Guild from Flemington\, NJ.  The mission of the Hunterdon Guild is to perpetuate the tradition and art of rug hooking\, to encourage creativity\, and to promote educational activities that enhance the interest of rug hooking.  Take a peek at their guild website www.hcrag.com – see many beautiful rugs pictured in their School Information site. \nWe think that our Pearl would love this event!  Bring your friends\, book a tour before the birthday party!

This traditional biographic tour of her home\, the Pearl S. Buck House\, a National Historic Landmark museum\, allows visitors to learn about the life and legacy of this remarkable woman. \nA rich\, mostly intact collection makes guests feel as if they are visiting the house in the time Ms. Buck and her family lived there. Objects from the ordinary (a closet full of board games played by the family) to the extraordinary (the typewriter Ms. Buck used to write The Good Earth) add to the fascinating experience.
