SUMMARY:Life & Legacy Tour
DESCRIPTION:Traditional Historic House Tour \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPearl S. Buck was a Pulitzer and Nobel Award-winning author\, a humanitarian\, and an activist. This traditional biographic tour of her home\, the Pearl S. Buck House\, a National Historic Landmark museum\, allows visitors to learn about the life and legacy of this remarkable woman. \nA rich\, mostly intact collection makes guests feel as if they are visiting the house in the time Ms. Buck and her family lived there. Objects from the ordinary (a closet full of board games played by the family) to the extraordinary (the typewriter Ms. Buck used to write The Good Earth) add to the fascinating experience. Other interesting items include rare artwork from around the world\, period furnishings\, personal clothing\, and a library stocked with hundreds of books (including those by her favorite author\, Charles Dickens). \nIf you love history\, architecture\, literature\, folk art\, fine art\, or just stepping back in time\, this tour is for you.

SUMMARY:Taking Action Tour
DESCRIPTION:This tour with interactive dialogue of the Pearl S. Buck House museum\, developed in collaboration with the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience\, shares the story of Pearl S. Buck’s forward-thinking human rights advocacy for issues that remain relevant today. Pearl S. Buck\, winner of the Pulitzer and Nobel Prizes\, used her fame to shed light on the rights of marginalized communities including people of color\, people with disabilities\, women\, biracial children\, and immigrants. Beyond using her writing to bring attention to these social justice issues\, she took action to help those affected. \nThis tour engages visitors in conversations about subjects important to Ms. Buck. It inspires them to reflect on their own values and to take action to make the world a “good and peaceful place\,” as Pearl S. Buck said and did. \nIf you are looking for an enlightening and uplifting experience that will inspire you to embrace Pearl S. Buck’s principles and practice\, this tour is for you.

SUMMARY:An Evening for Ukraine
DESCRIPTION:In keeping with the cross-cultural and humanitarian legacy of our founder\, Pearl S. Buck International celebrates the courageous and inspiring people of Ukraine in their fight for freedom and democracy. \nA journey through the eyes of Ukrainian artists from the frontlines. \nJoin us for what promises to be an inspiring evening. This fundraiser event will feature a live and silent auction of mounted and framed original artwork by Ukrainian artists on the frontlines of the assault on their country. Learn about their stories in their own words through video and written testimonials. \nU.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania’s First District\, who spent many years working in Ukraine and with the Ukrainian people\, will make a special appearance and remarks via video. Ukrainian family members of those displaced by war and those who have made it here seeking refuge will also be on hand to speak about their journey. \nPearl S. Buck International continues in the footsteps of Pearl S. Buck by bridging cultures\, changing lives\, and creating hope. Proceeds from the artwork auction will be donated to a vetted international organization working on the ground supporting the Ukrainian people in their time of need. \nThis event will be catered by Jamie Hollander Catering. \nTickets are limited and expected to go quickly. Event sponsorship opportunities are also available. Register today at: pearlsbuck.org/ukraine. \nFor more information\, contact events@pearlsbuck.org.

Pearl S.
