Psychological Assessments for Abused and Exploited Children – Philippines (This project has been fully funded)
Beneficiaries: 10 children who are victims/survivors of online sexual assault and exploitation
Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) is rampant in the poor communities of the Philippines. This is the new form of human trafficking, conducted the use of technology or the internet to facilitate the sexual abuse of a child, including the production and sharing of child sexual abuse and nude material online.
The COVID-19 pandemic facilitated a dramatic rise in OSAEC cases in the Philippines. This has affected sponsored children and children served by Pearl S. Buck Foundation Philippines. As a foundation committed to child protection, PSBP has coordinated with the rightful agencies to rescue our sponsored child and transfer them to a safe shelter along with other OSAEC victim-survivors.
To provide psychological assessments to child victims/survivors of online sexual assault and exploitation to help with their eventual healing from their traumatic experiences.
