Improve Living Conditions and Nutrition – Kenya

Location: Kisumu, Kenya
Beneficiaries: 93 vulnerable and orphaned children
Background:

Ogada Children’s Home is home to 93 vulnerable and orphaned children. There are 11 staff who live at the home and care for the needs of the children. The 53 children in primary school live on campus 24/7, and there is room for the 40 older children to stay at the home on school holidays. The boy’s and girl’s dormitories are in significant need of renovation, specifically replacing the doors, windows, ceiling boards, and floor tiles. These renovations will provide better security for the children, beautify their living spaces, and make it easier to keep clean. In addition, the children would benefit from new washing machines to keep their clothes clean and an industrial bread machine to ensure fresh food several times a week.

Project Goal

To improve safety and cleanliness at the children’s home, ensure the children live cleaner and healthier by wearing washed clothing, and provide fresh food several times a week with an industrial bread machine.
