Julie Headshot

Featured Speaker: Julie Henning

One of our most sought-after speakers is author, advocate, and educator Julie Henning. Julie Henning is an Amerasian born in South Korea during the Korean War. At age 13, she was brought to America by Nobel Prize-winning author Pearl S. Buck and raised as her daughter in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Today, Julie has a family of her own—a loving husband, two married sons with wonderful wives, and five energetic grandsons. She is a retired teacher who loves to share her story of hope and grace with churches and civic organizations. She continues to advocate for Amerasians through newspaper articles, radio interviews, national television, and US Congressional hearings. Julie’s memoir, A Rose in a Ditch, was published in 2019. Julie was honored as Pearl S. Buck International’s Woman of Influence in 2020, an award that is bestowed on women who, like Pearl S. Buck, have distinguished themselves in their career, devotion to family and pursuit of humanitarian goals.
