School Supplies for Rural Schools – Thailand
Location: Tak, Phitsanulok, and Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand
Beneficiaries: 1,200 students
Background:
Small schools located in rural and remote communities face significant limitations in resources, staffing, and government funding. In particular, the allocation of essential learning materials is insufficient because the national budgeting system is based on student enrollment. As a result, small schools receive far less funding than what is required to provide an adequate learning environment. If these schools have to close, children will be forced to travel much farther—often through unsafe or difficult terrain—leading to higher dropout rates and widening educational inequality. Communities would also lose an essential institution for child protection, development, and social connection.
Project Goal
To make sure rural and remote schools have access to essential supplies and learning materials to serve their students and the community.
