Donors who want to leave a legacy of giving that makes a lasting difference can make arrangements for planned giving. There are a range of planned giving options to consider—talk to your financial planner or read more to find out which planned giving method works best for you.

What is a planned gift?

A planned gift, or planned giving, is a contribution that is arranged now to be allocated at a future date. People usually donate these planned gifts through a will or trust. They are most often granted once the donor has passed away.

Is Pearl S. Buck International named in your will or other planning documents?

If your will, trust or other estate plans include Pearl S. Buck International, please let us know!  This information is helpful in planning for the future and we would like to invite you to join the Pearl S. Buck Camellia Circle.  Camellia Circle members receive exclusive benefits and your gift may remain anonymous, if you choose.

Is it time to update your estate plan?

If so, please include a charitable bequest to Pearl S. Buck International. For bequests of cash in wills or trusts, please use the following suggested bequest language. Please share this information with your attorney or other advisor:

I give and bequeath to Pearl S. Buck International, Perkasie,

Pennsylvania, the sum of $________, to be used for its general, tax-exempt purposes.

What is the Camellia Circle?

When individuals tell us they have named Pearl S. Buck International in their estate plans, we say thank you by including them in the Camellia Circle.  The name comes from the Camellia, which originated in China and is a symbol of longevity. It was one of Pearl S. Buck’s favorite flowers. As a Camellia Circle member, you will receive lifetime complimentary admission to the Pearl S. Buck House, a National Historic Landmark in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Leaving a Planned Gift to Pearl S. Buck International

Members of the Camellia Circle are all making a meaningful, future gift by leaving a bequest in their will or trust or by naming Pearl S. Buck International as a beneficiary of a retirement plan, life insurance or investment account.  Our Vice President of Development will be the steward of these deferred gifts, also known as planned gifts.

Is Pearl S. Buck International already in your plans?

Please let us know! If you have named us in your will or trust, or as a beneficiary of a retirement plan, life insurance, or any other type of account, please let us know so that we may formally enroll you as a member of the Camellia Circle.

Are your Retirement Plans, Investment Accounts, and Life Insurance beneficiaries up to date?

You can make Pearl S. Buck International a partial or full beneficiary of a plan simply by filling out a change of beneficiary form.
