Pearl S. Buck International to Host America 250 Beer Tasting and History Event
Join Pearl S. Buck International for “Raise A Glass: Beer, Brewing, and the Road to Revolution,” an America 250 event, on Saturday, June 13 from 6-9 pm. Travel back with us to the 18th century and discover how beer helped shape colonial America and the path to independence. Biochemist, beer enthusiast, and history buff Dr. Jessica Zenskie will give a presentation on beer, brewing, and the bold ideas that helped fuel the American Revolution. The program will include a period beer-tasting from Langhorne-based Aristaeus Craft Brewery, voted Bucks County’s Best Brewery four years in a row.
After the presentation and tasting, guests are invited to hang out in our “beer garden” and enjoy:
- Beer, non-alcoholic drinks, and food available for purchase
- Live music provided by Calum Hayes of Snacks & Co.
- Exhibitors such as the Morgan Log House, the Mercer Museum, PA Historical Recovery Service, and more (see our website for the most up-to-date listing of vendors and exhibitors)
- Raffle baskets
- The Phillies game on our big screen inside our conference center
Two ticket levels are available for purchase – the History on Tap Pass includes the full program, with the presentation and beer-tasting starting at 6 pm and the beer garden opening at 7 pm. The Raise A Glass Pass allows guests to enjoy our beer garden starting at 7 pm. All ticket-holders will receive a commemorative beer glass.
This event will take place on the grounds of the Pearl S. Buck Estate, 520 Dublin Road, Perkasie, PA 18944. Tickets are available now and are expected to sell out. They can be purchased at https://pearlsbuck.org/beer/
