The top decorators at the Pearl S. Buck House museum’s annual Festival of Trees were announced at Pearl S. Buck International’s Holiday Community Night on December 15.

Each year during Festival of Trees, the rooms of Pearl S. Buck’s iconic Bucks County stone farmhouse come alive with the glow of holiday decorations. The event showcases beautiful trees and vignettes designed by Bucks County’s best artists, decorators, and local community groups to convey the spirit of Pearl S. Buck’s legacy as an author, humanitarian, and activist.

This year, Pearl S. Buck International has been thrilled to treat guests to a new exhibit displayed throughout the Pearl S. Buck House of original artwork by renowned artist Anna Marie Magagna, created to illustrate Pearl S. Buck’s children’s book, Christmas Miniature.

Visitors had the opportunity over the course of the past month to vote for their favorite display. Four organizations were chosen as the winners. Soroptomist International of Indian Rock, Inc. came in third place with their decorations on the piano side of the living Room; Bedminster Handmade, which decorated the silver side of Pearl Buck’s dining room, and Fitzpatrick School of Irish Dance, one of the breezeway decorators, tied for second place; and Stray Cat Blues, which covered Richard Walsh’s office with its cat-themed décor, was the favorite display among visits and came in first.

Soroptimist International of Indian Rock, Inc. is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Bedminster Handmade’s owner Tyree Dworak is passionate about using art to help people through teaching, volunteering, and making her own artwork. Fitzpatrick School of Irish Dance is an accredit Irish dance school located in Doylestown.

Stray Cat Blues actively works to recruit permanent homes for the stray cats in their program.

There is still time to see these winning displays and all the other wonderful holiday décor in the Pearl S. Buck House. Festival of Trees runs through January 8, 2023. For tour times and to make a reservation, go to: https://pearlsbuck.org/visit-the-pearl-s-buck-house/plan-your-visit/
