Philippines College Program Continues to Thrive

Pearl S. Buck Foundation Philippines (PSBP) was thrilled to announce that this past year, nine sponsored children graduated from college. All of these students passed their board examinations in their chosen fields and are now licensed professionals. Education as a tool to help children and families lift themselves out of poverty continues to be the core tenet of Pearl S. Buck Foundation Philippines’ mission and they are proud to share the achievements of these graduates and their generous sponsors, who helped make their dreams and goals possible.

Reinalyn is now a Registered Psychometrician. Her sponsor continues to support Reinalyn’s childhood dream of becoming a medical doctor. Reinalyn is now pursuing a medical degree at Medical Central University.

May Antonette is now a Certified Public Accountant following her graduation and is now preparing for her oath-taking.

Nicole Angelo recently became an Agriculture and Biosystems Engineer.

Ashley has become a Registered Nurse. She is now waiting for her oath-taking ceremony and plans to take the NCLEX, a US-based nursing board examination.

John David is another student who chose to go into the education field, becoming a Licensed Professional Teacher and awaiting his oath-taking.

Clarize has become a Licensed Professional Teacher and is now teaching at St. Joseph of Olongapo, Inc., in its High School Department.

Grace Faith also became a Licensed Professional Teacher and is now teaching in a private school.

Jerald James has become a Licensed Professional Teacher and is preparing for his oath-taking.

Ledrian has become a Licensed Professional Teacher and is now teaching at St. Emiliana Academy of Excellence.

PSBP is so proud of the accomplishments of every one of these college graduates and the choice of so many of them to give back to the field of education. Pearl S. Buck International and PSBP are grateful to all our child sponsors, whose support makes an education possible for every sponsored child, but a special thank you to those who are able and willing to help the children in our program achieve their dream of going to college and beyond.

The PSBP scholarship program offers aspiring students the opportunity to achieve their academic goals. Individual and group sponsorship of this program has allowed PSBP to fulfill its vision of a brighter future for Filipino children through education.
