School Farm – Thailand
Location: Ban Gud Ra-ngum School, Warinchamrab district, Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand
Beneficiaries: 93 malnourished and impoverished children
Background:
Children who have access to nutritious meals will grow physically, be strong and healthy, and not face as many learning challenges. Children with full bellies have happy, contented minds that are eager to learn new things. Food, especially breakfast, plays an important role in healthy physical and mental development. Recognizing the potential impact of this nutritional issue on children’s growth, Pearl S. Buck Foundation Thailand has launched a school farm project in partnership with Ban Gud Ra-ngum School at Ubonratchathani to help malnourished and impoverished children have access ti nutrient-rich foods, be happy to learn and grow up properly.

To assist poor students to be able to access breakfast and enjoy food farming in their school.

Specific Objectives
- Provide students with the means and training to grow rice and vegetables
- Provide students with the means and training to raise hens, tilapia, and frogs
- Provide nutritious breakfast to students for one semester
